attacking etiquette?

don't you guys have any sort of etiquette over here regarding the number of attacks on an empire? on other servers i have played on it is between 8-10 before people start to get pissed at you... last set i played here it seemed like people would be angry and make threats if i attacked them around 12 times or so... but 45? REALLY?

if you guys don't have any of these unwritten rules that's cool too... just wondering if seeing this should upset me or not:

45 is rather harsh
20 or so is normal if you have land

The round has been thrown off kilter by the sudden influx of 400k extra acres
Normally people dont attack much more than 10-15x in Turbo.
Reg its more like 6-8x

Ungatt, 45 is -not- common at all.  Keep an eye on the recent news.  Normal is still around 10-15, tending towards the higher end with the extra land floating around

The -highest- total Defences belongs to Blue Eyes, 605 total
The average is around 250. 
The round is 12 days old.

The average number of defences per day is ~20

Now, Blue Eyes does take an average of 50 defences per day.  But he is by far an outlier.  His attack number also pretty closely matches his defence number.  So there you go.

To my knowledge there isnt any declared, open warfare going on between any of the 4 clans
Yet.

There's no benefit to it.  Two warring clans would drag each other down while the other two, if they're smart, stay out of it and outpace them.  If a clan is just openly hostile towards everyone then the other three clans will take them out.
Woodlanders have the most to lose, they're not going to rock the boat.

I specifically instructed my clan to play per normal.

I don't look at how many times i've been attacked. I look at how low they took my land.

Compare yourself to the average land people have around you (don't look at the few people with tons of land). Then consider if you were attacked way below that.

Right now, I'd say if somebody attacked you below 20k land. They definitely have something against you.
