Ukraine knocked out Swizterland in the shootout, even though the Swiss team failed to allow a goal the entire tournament. New Chelsea signing Andriy Shevkchenko saw his spot kick saved, but the next 3 shooters for Ukraine found the net. Switzerland had 2 penalty's saved and one hit the post. Switzerland became the first team to be eliminated without conceding.

Ukraine advance to face Italy, who won on a dubious penalty call.
