How do cities help?

Cities make you more money by acting like you have more markets and tents on only 1,000 land. They are hard for people to take away, but if someone can take one away, they get them all. So, not a good idea to make more then a few. But maybe the best part of having a city is that if someone is trying to kill you, they also have to get that hard to take city. Most people have just one of them.
