QuoteI understand that it is dehydration, but there are other factors contributing to that too. I've had a few glasses of wine followed by a liter of water, then I wake up with a hang over. The best thing I know to do is make sure that I go to bed sober. If I get tipsy over dinner, I drink water slowly over a few hours then go to bed. I think after a small glass of water per hour it's just goin straight into your bladder. Volkov, isn't this when you chime in with some science you pretend to know?

OK, first off, I've forgotten more about biology than you have ever known Peace. So just cut that crap out right now.

Anyway, hangovers are caused by a number of factors. The biggest is usually dehydration, and just drinking a liter of water isn't going to necessarily replace all the fluid you've lost. But even if you are well hydrated, you can still get hangover symptoms. The reason for that is the toxins you have ingested. Alcohol itself is a mild poison, and the products your body creates when it breaks it down are not exactly harmless either. In fact, the main product of alcohol breakdown, acetaldehyde, is even more toxic than alcohol itself. Acetaldehyde is eventually broken down into acetic acid by your body, which is basically harmless, but while it's in you, you definitely do not feel too hot. I even remember the names of the enzymes that break down both of those, as well as why alcohol makes you have to pee so much. I think there are other factors that contribute to a hangover, but from what I remember, acetaldehyde toxicity and dehydration are the two main culprits.

Sevz, while you may have a fast metabolism, which would help with alcohol breakdown, you should still be drunk as a skunk with that amount of alcohol in you. Like, in a coma or dead. 25 beers in 3 hours is a .52 BAC. I can maybe buy that your liver works better than other peoples but you should still be incapacitated at the very least. In other words, I think this is you telling stories to sound more manly. That or you actually weigh like 300 pounds or something. I could drink that much and just be really super hammered, but not in danger of death, but then I'm freaking huge.
