Does anyone know of a place where one (such as myself) can learn how to program? Something like an online tutorial, or even a class?

Peace's site is alright, if you are doing web development. For other stuff there are literally thousands of resources at varying quality.

The biggest thing is to simply read and write code. Get a compiler or interpret, mess around with some examples, see what it does. IDE's can be helpful for this if they are simple. Something like Eclipse is just too much of a pain in the butt. In terms of languages, I'd recommend Python or C, or even Perl. All three are relatively simple, cross-platform and have free compilers and interpreters.

Personally I'd recommend starting with C++ or Java...my first language was C++, but I think Java was pretty easy to learn.
