Naltaca i believe you've simplified music far too much... that might be ONE of the reasons people listen to music, but there are millions of others. If there was only one reason, not so many people would listen to music.

In my entire life i've met ONE person who "doesn't listen to music"... even though thats partially false since music is in every commercial/show/movie/bus/subway/car/head....
(by the way i think that one person was shade, lol)


As for the bands... i won't hold it against you because you've got a few good ones there... fall out boy is the lamest and phoniest of all sell-out bands i've heard in the last few years!

oops... sometimes i accidentally rant about bands...

i like all music... i can't say there's any genre thats 100% crap. but i can certainly say that country is about 98% crap. hip hop is about 70% crap, pop is about 85% crap. rap is about 60% crap....

it's music. with music you either have to respect all of it or none of it. it's an art form, and like most other art forms, it's basically out there to generate cash. some of it caters to your individual tastes, some doesn't, but it's neanderthalic to say "blah sucks" or "x is crap". it's simply not to your taste. there are people who don't like Mozart, there are people who don't like Zappa, there are people who don't like fallout boy, there are people who don't like the Beatles -- and there are many people who DO like those bands.

Respect it as music, or disrespect it as a commercial good, but you can't be selective.
