 Well, my family has spyware and adware protection and pop-up blockers on my laptop and our PC's at home, so we've never had those issues even though we use IE on all of them. If it's not broken, why fix it?  Honestly, none of our comps have issues with spyware, adware, pop-ups, viruses or crashes; they run perfectly.  Probably because we have good protection on our computers, which is just smart no matter what programs you use to browse the 'net.
