Someone, somewhere needs to just go ahead and do a DnD Prom. The idea has stuck out to various people for so long. I mean DnD is still popular enough and it's... you know, it's DnD, not very flashy. Seems like a text game would kind of work especially well there, lol.

If we make another site with a new theme, because I don't think we should change RWL's theme, I think a theme based off a video game is a good idea, as most people on the web this will site will appeal to would be gamers. A big series that has future games, movies and other media confirmed for the future is probably a good idea for longevity. Halo, Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls. Anyone one of those could fit if a few adjustments were made (eg. making all the covenant races in Halo individual races)

Or like Death just posted, you could just do a DnD theme, though I think that's a bit boring and probably not different enough from most other promisances.

You'd probably have to acquire permission, but I know fan games have been released based on these franchises with approval so long as no profit is made, and RWL is already non-profit. I think something historic is probably just too generic to attract as many members as something with a popular theme.

I'm currently in top position by a huge margin BUT I'm intentionally dropping down to the bottom.

I would volunteer to spearhead a D&D prom based off RWL's code. I've been playing less recently, but I've been playing D&D for the last 9 years.

Summon someone who can code and is willing to now, lol.

I have some webspace that I could use for this, and I could get the promi code up and running pretty quickly (I've done it once before)

We'd need someone to buy a domain name though.

Eh, if you guys are serious I'll cover the domain registration and help with setup.
I know zilch about DND, but themeing a game is mostly changing constants (race names, troop types, etc) and colors.
Keeping it a code compatible sister-site to RWL would be ideal, unless someone else wants to fork it in a different direction (which they're more than welcome to).

Would need a couple people to commit to administering the game and its forum.
Just let me know.

Well, I know quite a bit about D&D, so I'd be willing to both help design and admin the game/forum. I would need a coder though, as I am not proficient at it.

If you actually get it up and running I can help with the re-themeing. Big code projects will be a bit more touch and go for me, but I may be able to help out.

So we have

1. Someone willing to host it
2. Someone willing to manage it
3. Someone willing to do theme work and possibly a bit of coding

Not bad at all. Now it just needs that push from the discussion phase into the action phase. And someone with the $10 for a domain I guess lol.
