So a couple of scenarios...

1) Both you and your enemy are in (similar sized and ability) clans
2) You are in a clan and your enemy is not
3) You are not in a clan and your enemy is
4) Neither you nor your enemy are in clans

...How does each turn out? Say both are experienced vets about the same ability.

It depends on how the two feel about each other.

what kinds of enemies are they?

Are they really hateful enemies just vying to kill each other?

Or are they using more subtle tactics and trying to figure out each other's motives?

In short make a more detailed description.

Say they've been sacking/murdering/poisoning each other for a while and they are kinda mad and past diplomacy. Basically trying to get rid of each other.

1) If this is really the case, and you are beyond diplomacy, you organize kills on the offending player, and hopefully some of his clanmates to prevent retaliation. If they are smart, they are likely plotting the same regarding you.

2) Usually this is just tough luck. If they're too far above/below you or maxed on attacks, you just have to take their abuse. You can't kill them, you can attempt to murder or sack them as many times as you see them unmaxed, but again, tough luck.

3) Form a clan for yourself and only yourself if you want to run your enemy into the ground. Be aware that you then lose the protection that being clanless offers you in the 22 attack max, and they can retaliate just as hard, if not harder should their clanmates join in.

4) Same as #2, more or less.

I don't understand which your actual situation is. I'm not active on either server, but if you want to PM me the more obvious details, including any information you have, I'd be glad to give you more specific advice, as well as tell you what I would personally do.
