How do you extract segments to make your avi?

I use a program called Gimp. If you don't know what you're doing it takes nigh on forever to learn, but you're welcome to try. You can download gimp after a quick google search. You can even use Youtube to make the gif itself.

You can use realplayer to download youtube videos in any format you want, so it's not a bad idea to do that to download episodes. You can download them in whatever format. The advanced animation guide is pretty good, too.
