Well when you think about it Hitler was just about the most awesome warlord in all of history. He took over Poland in just 6 weeks. France too. He would've had all of Europe if he had had the sense not to attack Russia.

Actually the Wehrmacht, using tactics devised by some pretty brilliant generals in England and Germany, took over Poland and France for Hitler, in a very short amount of time. Of course you are leaving out the fact that Hitler made a deal with Stalin and they took over Poland together. And you are rather ignoring Stalin, who was also a very impressive warlord, and arguably more responsible for his countries ultimate success in WW2 than Hitler was for Germany's accomplishments.

Hitler was definately a 10 on the pwnage scale. Nobody else has ever murdered so many people so quickely. It takes serious talent to do all he did.

Actually Stalin killed about 30 million people through starvation and other methods. He killed 6-8 million people through a forced famine in about a year. But both Stalin and Hitler pale in comparison to Genghis Khan. He killed 9 out of 10 people in every territory he conquered. He killed every single person in the city of Babylon. He created the vastest contiguous empire in the history of the world. Almost no one lived in it, but it was there. Many people say that he "created a desert and called it peace".

Not that what he did was alright. But admit it, you couldn't replicate it if you had 1000 years.

Actually either of the two biggest nuclear powers could surpass anything any warlord in history has done in about 15 minutes. There wouldn't be anyone left alive to see it, but it would be the quickest any territory has ever been conquered, and certainly the most people killed in the shortest amount of time.

All that is really irrelevant though, since I don't think that was what Ungatt was talking about.

Genghas Khan and that other guy were good warlords too. The other dude was more just a terrible ruler though than a purposefully driven death machine. He didn't kill 30 million because he wanted to, he just didn't care to insure their survival. Hitler wanted the people he killed dead.

I'm going to assume that just by the sheer statistic of 9 out of 10 that Genghas Khan wanted the people he killed dead too. That's such a horrible statistic.

Actually no... Stalin mostly wanted the people killed under his regime dead. He hated Ukrainians, for example, so when someone had to go without food, he actually chose Ukraine to be the region who wouldn't get any food for awhile. Stalin was actually a fairly effective ruler. He was paranoid as hell and deeply bigoted, but he managed to beat back the German onslaught and was pretty effective in the post-war world as well. Course he also hamstrung his own army by conducting a huge purge of it's officer corps just before the beginning of WW2. This is a good chunk of the reason for Russia making it's non-aggression pact with Germany.

Genghis... well, he more or less viewed everyone who wasn't a Mongol as not fully human. Killing all the people he killed was more a means to an end than an end in and of itself.
