RedCon Specific / Re: RedCon 2006
August 22, 2005, 06:55:09 AM
I regret to inform you all, that the project that was RedCon 2006 has been postponed indefinitely. Due to lack of enough interest, the event would not have economical and thus we could not ask you all to go to it.

Any further questions can be asked to Randag, contactable at the Terrouge Forums.

(On a side note: I will however still be coming to the US next summer and be arranging a series of meets across the country).

RedCon Specific / RedCon 2006

Some of you may or may not know this but I, Randag, am the head Director for RedCon 2006. And at the moment we are currently getting estimates for the numbers that may be able to attend.

If you think you can go, indicate as such with the appropriate choice in the poll. If you can't, then don't vote. If you have indicated if you can go on another site on the ROC then don't indicate again.

Thank you for your attention!

All questions regarding RedCon can be asked to either myself or the other Directors (Aden, UblazOfINSU and Tiberuvsky).

-Randag, RedCon Director.

RedCon Specific / RedCon Assignments.
February 05, 2005, 08:41:37 PM
If anyone would like to help me with something I'd very happy. Actually, I believe I've mentioned it before (in font twice before) in this thread alone. It helps if you have plenty of free time to set aside, but can also be done over a number of days. So if there are any takers, PM me and I'll tell you what it's all about.

If not, then I guess I'll have to do it myself and then any progress on the RedCon front will have to be put back until the middle of March. I really don't want to wait that long before I get started on the important things.

Thanks!

RedCon Specific / RedCon Assignments.
September 15, 2004, 12:56:40 PM
Quote from: RandagI need someone to scan the ROC and find all the sites, clubs etc., that you think would be able to produce a worthy booth at RedCon. For instance, Terrouge would be one that could make their E-zines actual mags, same goes for other sites with a similar format, and VI could also make something appealing to the masses.

The thing is I don't know all of them, but I need to get an estimate on how many stalls that need to be accounted for. So what I'm asking for is a list of ROC sites that are extremely popular (of course this could all change in the next two years, but then again more sites might emerge) and that are recognizable, and perhaps a sentence about the sites (what its about or what it could bring).
Okay, I really need this to be done, and as of yet I have no word back from Calan. So, if anyone would like to volunteer, that would be awesome. The thing is I don't have the time to do this, but if no-one wants to do it I suppose I'll have to. So, does anyone on staff want to give it a shot?

Shael, if you are reading this, I'm wondering what happened to your assignment. That assignment is less important right now, but I'd like to know what's happening.

Aden, if at all possible arrange to meet up with Shy as soon as you both have the free time. I understand Ublaz is unable to make a meeting any time soon, but the place needs to be found, so you two will have to do it yourselves. Aswell as writing the Business plan.

RedCon Specific / Staff Positions
August 02, 2004, 09:57:02 AM
Unless someone disagrees I'm going to cut down on the number of Staff positions we have. This, of course,  will make it harder for those who are actually on the staff as they'll have to do a lot more work, and they'll have a lot more responsibility too. But since RedCon is only 2 days, I'm sure we can manage to push ourselves that much extra during that time.

If anyone wants to join the staff (i.e. the staff needed in 2006), remember you'll have to commit yourself to this. But you can drop out at any time, though if you do I'll be less inclined to allow you back on the staff, should you wish to return.

RedCon Specific / RedMeet '04

Okay, let's push forward and get the venue out of the way. Once we have that done I can start trying to convince the Redwall Company that this will be the best thing they invested in.

Of course to do that we'll have to get the Business Plan and the Budget done aswell.

Eh... so any word back on these assignments?

Actually, I haven't even seen Calan since I first gave her the ROC assignment. Anyone know where she is?

RedMEET and RedCON: do you notice the difference in the names?

RedCon is 2006.

Anything left over, you say. Well, I'll find you something nice and easy (of if you prefer, something with a reasonable amount of power) to do.

Thanks Jessie, I can see you put a lot of effort into it. Don't worry if you don't have it up by the end of the week, just do it at your own pace.

I'm glad to hear that you are able to go, I'll be looking forward to seeing you there. Let's hope it isn't just the staff there.  ;)

Thanks for the info, Sarah. Once we get started on the location, I can see if Falar wants to do something for me.

Fine, Falar. I'll leave all that up to you, when the time comes for it.

There are probably going to be poetry, art, writing, live role-play and possibly some sort of food eating/food making contests.

Okay, thank you Wolf Bite! I'll get back to you.

RedCon Specific / Some appologies...

I'll accept the apology, but I'm still not sure if I'll forgive you for certain things you've done in the past, just yet.
Given time, maybe, but I don't know if you could change back into your old self again. I'd like to hope that would never happen.

RedCon Specific / Staff Positions

 Okay.

First I'd like to address the Main Stage sound system situation. I'm presuming the place which we choose to hold the Con will already have a main stage, and thus also have a microphone connected to a sound system. We can always change the connections so that the Main Stage Sound only goes to the speakers near the main stage.

The DJ music will be everywhere else, so connecting up a sound system to the DJ station, which is actually not on my floor plan yet, will only be as hard as acquiring more speakers (if needed) and finding a place for the DJ to set up and starting the connections from there.
There will be a set playlist from which the DJ will select music, so they'll only be able to request certain music. The DJ situation is still not really important right now, but I do thank you for your post, Falar, as it has opened my eyes to some things I didn't remember.

We are hoping to have some sort of dance in the evening on the first night, and the DJ will be allowed to play more of his/her own music (but nothing R-rated), we are going to try find a DJ that will be more willing to satisfy the audience than just have them play whatever they want. All of this is a bit sketchy, as we don't even have a place yet. I think it's best to wait until we have a venue, before we get more into this.

I'll also get back to you on what position I think you'd be good at. Unless of course you have any opinions.
Oh, also since you won QBIII, do you want to be a judge, because that would be good publicity?

Not at the moment. And I can't see any reason why you can't have that position. So, I guess it's yours.

Once we have worked out the actual schedule (some time later this year, I'll tell you exactly what the position entails. But for now, I'll just tell you that you'll most likely have to introduce each guest speaker, and stuff similar to that.
