Anyways, as i said this is from when i USED TO BE chronically depressed, i'm good now. Please, if you are going to comment (and i truly hope some people will... i like opinions on my poetry...) actually comment on the poetry, rather than attempting to give me "cures" for depression (see again, USED TO BE depressed...)

Shadows

A leaf blows by upon a strand of misty wind
Twisting and turning with the slightest provocation
White clouds drift overhead
Blocking out the sun and setting the world into darkness
Yet the darkness is welcoming
Enveloping one with comfort
A place to wallow in the happiness of misery
And there I stand
Now a single splinter of sunlight shines through
Hope is renewed
But I know not what awaits me
In that land of light
Whether it be happiness
Or more despair
So I wait
For someone to come
To guide me
To show me the way
And here
In the darkness
I stand

Time's wheel turns quietly
Lurking behind the shadows
Slowly, ever so slowly ticking
Changing what it can
Consuming what it cannot
Whatever remains is better
Or so they say
Yet I do not believe
What seems days ago I was happy
Kind, caring, frustrated, yes, but happy
People would anger me
I would lash back
I would apologize
And in the end, I was happy
Then I was told to ignore
To ignore the words and actions that provoked
It would help
I would be happier
Or so they said
And so I did as they bid me
I learned to ignore
To let the words flow through me
Yet they stayed
Whispering menacingly in my head
Wracking me with hate
With fear
With sadness...
They were wrong
In my trying to be pleasant
I have become the opposite
I do not know why
I do not know how
It simply is
They say I need to deal with it
They don't believe I tried
They don't believe I try
They don't believe in my struggle
They say they are right
That's what they say
Yet they are wrong
